Hi Fernando! Thank you for all of the information. Can I just say firstly how much I am loving bootcamp, I no longer have to exercise in a smelly gym whatsmore since I've been to attending it's clear that I wasn't doing enough or the right exercises before anyway! I've seen better results in 4 weeks at bootcamp than I did in 3 months of the gym. It's so nice to exercise outside and the friendly group atmosphere and your personality make me look forward to every session.
Gillian's Feedback:
I've been coming to bootcamp for 6 months now and I should be reaching the point where I give up now, if past experience is anything to go by. The good news is, is that this time I am not ! I really love coming to bootcamp classes and it seems that you have broken my 6 month cycle of try something, get bored, try something else etc. My face might not always portray someone who is having a good time, and sometimes during classes I don't think I am, but its always worth it in the end. I really like the variety that each instructor brings.
I am really enjoying the skipping that you have started to introduce into the classes. One of my friends swears that skipping is the best way to get rid of cellulite, so the more skipping the better, as far as I am concerned. It's hard to drag myself out of the house on cold dark evenings, but its really worth it for the feeling you get when the class is over and you can go home again. A cup of tea never tastes as good as it does after an exercise class in the cold! So I'll take this opportunity to say thank you. All those push ups mean that I no longer have to worry about a 'fat back' and I am keeping my fingers crossed that by the summer, and with continued skipping, I won't have to worry about the 'fat bum' either ! ;o)

I recently returned after a holiday cross country skiing in Norway and I must say that as I was trudging across tranquil snow capped mountains in minus 23 degree temperatures, my body was quietly screaming thank God for Fernando and Kat and the bootcamps.

Hi Fernando
Ok having read everyone else feedback I thought its time to give mine.
I may not be the slimest or the fastest but I am there week after week. I try to put the fun into bootcamp and I so love to hear you call my name LOR RAINE when in fact my name is one word Lorraine (lol) . Making it a family affair now I have my niece Nicola who has joined and yes she attends bootcamp fully made up, make up, hair and nails. The sclaes do not show a dramtic weight lost but the inches are falling off my backside, I'm no longer the size of a bus maybe a van (lol) and yes I know I am sexier and yes I do look good naked...............

I really enjoy the bootcamps and I like the structure, I also think that most of the classes have a good balance between cardio and resistance. I've particularly liked the classes that have involved hill running as I struggle to motivate myself to do this outside of the class and I would like to see more classes like this (perhaps one a month).

Hi Fernando,
Before bootcamp I hated running, but because of bootcamp I have now incorporated a run part of the way home from work once a week, this is a big achievement for me as I usually rely on my friend Catherine for the motivation to make me go for a run. Anyway I started this last night, being Valentines day I had nothing better to do! Well, lets just say I know where all the 'fit' men are, they run home through Wandsworth Common and Balham, it has certainly motivated me to keep running!!

Bootcamp overall - Looking back at the past year, Miracle Fitness has seen a lot of changes. I've liked the continuous schedule rather than having breaks in between and the new instructors have been a positive addition overall.
Continuing with MF has for me meant that mentally and physically I have been able to recover from sport injuries quicker. I've long believed that part of injury is in the mind and MF encourages me to look beyond an initial injury.
I've been a bootcamper for almost 3 years now, and proud to be so. Of late my attendance has suffered due to work, but despite this attending BC has helped, especially at stressful times. Finally, attending has obviously assisted with the pre-carnival preparations, for which I will forever be thankful.

Try as I might, I have to admit, I don’t have anything negative to say. I agree with your other bootcampers comments about noticing changes in body shape and clothes....but has anyone said they feel sexier ahahaha! At the grand old age of 40, after trying the gym and other classes, I find that going to boot camp is the only thing that changes my body shape. And the renewed confidence makes me feel sexy, particularly when clothes look better – there you go, I’ve said it!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Fernando, I also thought last night was really good! I wasn't going to say that to you last night though! Really enjoyed the change/challenge and also doing so much running meant I was really able to see how far my fitness has come along since joining last November. When I say 'really enjoyed' maybe I didn't feel like that at the time!

The bootcamp experience: I started coming to the sessions in September 2010, I never thought I would be able to stick to an exercise regime as I have never managed to stick to one before. After my first session (which I enjoyed, but almost wiped me out!!), I wasn’t sure I was going to get through the next 2 sessions, let alone the whole bootcamp then sign up for more, but I surprised myself! I was able to find the motivation to return, which I didn’t in all honesty think I would do. Lots of factors make it good for me. You in particular, but also your instructors have a very good balance of pushing us to our limits but in such a way that it motivates us to return. There is always lots of variety, much more so now that there are more instructors, but even when it was just you, the bootcamps were always different, so you never knew exactly what to expect when you turn up. Being outside in the fresh air, it makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable than being stuck in a gym on a machine and I’m sure helps to make us feel healthier too. Also, for me, it is a very convenient way to keep fit, I think part of the reason why I could never stick at the gym or fitness classes, is that they always involved a lot of faffing around, getting there, queuing to get in and pay, changing and sorting out lockers etc, waiting for class to begin then it all again before you can leave, whereas with bootcamp, I change at home, drive to hilly fields, do the bootcamp, then drive home, it’s a much better process.

Dear Fernando, Here's my feedback for what it's worth! Hilly Fields is one of my running circuits and I noticed you from the corner of my eye during some of my Saturday morning runs putting a group of women (and a couple of men) through their paces. I was immediately curious but too shy to approach you and ask to observe a class. Then I ran past one of your adverts one Sunday morning in January and immediately logged onto your website when I got home. I liked what I saw, sent you an e-mail, you responded and I joined up with my daughter in tow!
I had been searching for an outdoors exercise class for some time to improve my fitness because my running had reached a plateau and I wasn't pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. Years ago, I did a stint with another company and liked it, but I dropped out after a year for various reasons. I hate gyms, so that was a no no. When I came to you, I was relatively fit (so I thought!), but didn't like where my body shape was heading (i.e. I was beginning to resemble Mr Blobby and I didn't like that!). Tomorrow is the last session of my first bootcamp and I'm very happy to say that I am hooked and have paid up for my second one starting in March. I feel much fitter and Mr Blobby is beginning to fade away. I can see some definition in parts of my body (even my torso!). I feel that I have achieved some of my goals and I feel good. Apart from areas that require surgery, I am happy with what has been achieved so far. I am proud to say that although I am the oldest member of Hilly Fields group, I am still able to keep up with the young ones!!!!
You are a genius and trainer extraordinaire!!! Your attention to detail, discretion, energy and ability to address everyone by their name from day one is second to none!

I have only been working with you since the end of January but my clothes are definitely looser already and I can definitely see a change in my body shape - I am so excited and looking forward to training in the spring/summer!!! I am so happy that I have found an exercise regime that I love and will not give up on, I have been singing your praises to everyone and pointing them in the direction of the miracle fitness website!!

Fernando, Many thanks for introducing me to an exercise class I actually enjoy (in a wierd sort of way) You are a real motivater and without your training style I would of give up a long time ago. I will certainly be returning for the next bootcamp. I am glad there are no longer gaps I find it really hard in between to motivate myself to go out and do some exercise (especially inthe winter). I have felt so much better and less tired since joining the bootcamp.

Anyway – this month so far I have noticed that I am a lot more flexible and stronger – I’m able to stand up from kneeling with my son wedged on my hip (must be all the squats and lunges) and also I can walk with him on my hip for much longer and at a faster rate – someone stopped me as I was marching down the street pushing an empty buggy and carrying my son and said I must be strong to walk at that pace for as far as I had (they had been walking behind me for while). I’ve also noticed that instead of bending over to pick things up (usually toys) off the ground I squat down which must be better for my back. So although I haven’t managed to attend all it’s still making a difference. I’m planning on going for a run on Sunday to make up for not coming on Saturday.

some feedback for you.... I've lost half a stone and although this month has been really busy with work so i've missed a few, I still feel the benefits, i'm sleeping better, generally happier in myself and my jeans are getting looser. Going for a run today to make up for missing last night, then I'm cominng on Saturday and I've signed up for a 5k run on Sunday in Hackney. I've still got a long way to go but I'm headed in the right direction.

Hi Fernando
Thank you so much for last night, I was dreading it all day, knowing that it was going to involve a long rung, and when I checked the distance that we did, I CANNOT BELIEVE IT, that I did it, and my only walking was on the big hill on the way home. I've been on a high since and you were right, it was the nudge to make me realise I'm not as distrastous as I thought I was. The big challenge apart from the run, and the soreness today, is my lack of self belief, my husband has suggested lots of times, why don't you sign up for a 10 k run, and I kept telling him that I was too big and not fit enough, but I know that if I put my mind to it I could do it, so thank you.
Mary says:
Hi Fernando
Inspired and motivated by Tuesday, I have done another run today, which was just under 5 miles again ( no stopping) the most I have been doing up to this point was 2.5 and kept telling myself I would build up to 5, so feeling very pleased ( and a bit knackered) with myself

Hi Fernando
I can't believe how much Boot Camp has changed me. The time really has flown by. For me it's been a long year with personal challenges to overcome, some of which I've told you about, but I have to say that Miracle Fitness has made such a difference to me, not just physically but mentally too. I've met so many great people at camp, and even though I'm not the fastest runner it's actually good fun trying to catch the other 2-3 girls that are always ahead of me! Thanks so much for the encouragement since I have joined. I don't think i've ever trained with someone who actually takes an interest in you as the person rather than you as a source of cash- and believe me that makes a huge difference.
They say a picture tells a thousand words, and today it really hit me just how much has changed over the last year. I had promised you some photos and here they are. The first photo was taken the day before my 29th birthday last year (i'm on the left in the green top). The next two photos were taken almost a year later to the day when I celebrated my 30th. The first thing I noticed was that I actually look younger in the last two post boot camp photos, and the second was how much healthier and happier I am. As I write this email it has struck me as to just how much has changed since camp, and I just wanted to say a big thank you. I look forward to meeting next year's challenges with the assistance of Miracle Fitness.
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year

Hi Fernando, a quick update from me as feeling happy and chuffed with myself this morning despite struggling a bit last night (I'm going to the docs this week to check my back out. But when all is said and done I am sleeping better and have a lot less back pain than I did before I bootcamped!!!).
My colleague said to me this morning as I was buying my porridge from the work canteen that my 'frame has completely changed'. She said that I even walked differently, and that I had really slimmed down. Also, the last couple of times I have been at bootcamp doing those exercises where you have to lie down and reach for your feet/twist around, I got a shock. There was this unfamiliar groove shape in my calves and thighs. I actually did a double take. It's muscle!!! I haven't weighed myself for a while (well, a week!) but I keep losing weight gradually even a little bit on the no-bootcamp weeks.
I'm now well into reaching my target of losing another stone (stone number two!!!) and that is despite the fact I have to be honest - I'm not exactly dieting, although I eat well most of the time ( I hate diets!). Running is still hard but I am getting better, albeit slowly (I think!). My new year's resolution for 2010 is to work on the running and enter a 10k. Anyway there is an update for you!

Hi Fernando
Sign me up for the Christmas sessions - I'm sold on Bootcamp ;-) I did a 6.5km run this morning, and I've just treated myself to some decent winter running kit so I can keep going even when it's cold - can't quite believe the change in just 3 weeks. I'm still getting used to thinking about myself as someone who positively enjoys exercise - I always thought I was more of a sofa-and-cake kind of girl - but Bootcamp has given my physical shape and mental self-image such a boost that I'm now really sold on making this change a permanent one!
Best wishes

Hi Fernando, first of all I will start with another successful story and that is I have lost 4/5 kg and I can really see the difference in my arms, chest, bum and thigh area. I have dropped a dress size from 14 to 12 by the way. I'm grateful for every minute a the bootcamp even if I sometimes looked like I didn't enjoy it. You have really introduced fitness into our daily routine and it has become addictive in a way. Not only fitness but thanks to the exercise routine, my quality of life has improved as I don't tend to stay at work as late as before, I don't go out as often as I did before and I think I drink considerably less thus saving money on going out and empty calories. Enjoy the rest of summer and keep us updated.

Thanks for your emails on the new format. Please count me in for the next bootcamp. I have continued to run and keep up the cardio, I am getting gradually faster. More satisfying however is that I have finally broken the 10st barrier and have weighed in at 9st 11lbs. I have not been under that weight for more than two years, and I'm also fitting into clothes I haven't worn for ages - so thank you very much for the encouragement and nutrition advice - it's working!!!

Hi Fernando, Thanks so much for these words of encouragement. I really appreciate it. I've been to the Peak District this weekend and had my first ever rock climbing and abseiling experience - I climbed a 20 metre rock face and then abseiled back down! I felt really comfortable being able to do this and it was all thanks to the confidence I have in my body after the past year of bootcamps. This is why I do bootcamp, to be able to do new things that previously I wouldn't have had the fitness and confidence in my physical ability to do, so thanks for all your efforts!!!

I have lost a stone and an inch off both my thighs. Well I can’t believe it. I have found that a pair of trousers that were so tight a few months ago I couldn’t wear it , actually fit me now, infact are a bit loose round the legs – so I am well pleased with that.
Sarah says
Thanks for giving me the motivation to do regular exercise, which I must admit I haven't done for a very long time. I didn't join to loose weight, just to get fitter and be healthier, but I have lost 2kgs even though I have been eating more (only good things though). I'll be thinking of you all on Saturday whilst I'm on my way to Gatwick and will see you in 3 weeks time in my new capacity of Mme Rouvreau.

Dear Fernando,
I think the name "Miracle Fitness" is perfect, because it was really a miracle to me! I was NEVER able to run before and that's where I feel I have made more progress. I still have a lot to achieve, but I feel that I got better with my cardio. During the last five weeks I saw my body changing, my arms and legs are visibly more toned (husband is very happy and impressed!!), and, well, overall I'm very happy with the result of my image! But, more importantly, I feel so much better: I feel more energetic, the tiredness that I felt in the beginning is gone, I haven't had migraines for weeks (I usually get them once a weeks!!!).
So, it's been an immense pleasure to be in your classes - even if I seemed to moan a lot about the pain and the burn!!! I actually came home feeling happy about having exercised! You are very special! You are a great and motivating teacher! The best thing is that now I feel ready to go back to dancing (which I used to do 10 years ago!), so I have register for a contemporary dance course at the Laban for next semestre!
Have a wonderful Christmas break! And please let us know about the next bootcamp in Brockley in January.
All the best.

Have just read your report Fernando and it's so lovely thank you.
You are of course right when you say I have battled away in the gym for years with little or no results and even putting on weight, counter to what is supposed to happen. I thoroughly enjoyed boot camp. I feel my fitness level has greatly increased and so has my self esteem. Of course getting into clothes I haven't worn for quite a while is simply the best and down to you. Thank you very much.

Hi Fernando,
Hope you're having a great weekend.
Joining the Miracle Fitness boot camp has really changed my lifestyle and my approach to fitness in general. When I started BC a year ago my fitness routine was sporadic to say the least. I had joined gyms in the past but found it hard to motivate myself to go regularly or would go in bursts and not again for a long time. Having a dedicated trainer who you see on a 3 x weekly basis has been great and made me dedicate time to fitness. I will now readily block out the time in my diary and feel guilty if I miss a camp. I have found through BC that I enjoy doing exercise and miss it when I don't do it. I am the fittest I have been in my life and look and feel better for it. I have more energy and have enjoyed spending more time outside and am importantly very motivated to go to the camps. I far prefer exercising outside rather than indoors.
Working out in a female only camp has been great as I feel we all support and motivate each other. The groups are not too big and it gives you a chance to get to know the other girls. I moved to CP not knowing anyone so on another level BC had been a great social thing to do. Although we work hard at BC and are pushed hard by you there is always a great atmosphere. I have particularly noticed if I've had a bad day at work or am feeling tired by the end of a session I am always in a good mood and am left feeling energised. Having an instructor with a good sense of humour is definitely a plus!
Ashley says
HI Fernando
I made notes as soon as I did this and have left them at work, so will work without them.
I appreciate this will be very useful for you, so I hope the following will help - I'll try to keep it as short as I can, but with 11 questions as a guideline, it could be tricky!
My experience on bootcamp has been a very positive one. Coming from no exercise, I knew that by signing up for 6-10 weeks, I would inevitably see a difference.
Camp has changed my attitude towards keeping fit as I know and can see, that with this regular exercising, I can keep at bay some of the uglier aspects of growing old - like general poor health, often attributed to just getting older. Whilst I still struggle with stamina, it is a whole lot better than it was, and figure-wise, I can still just about pass muster in a bikini (yes I can!)
Physically the changes at the beginning of camp (or 'ladies fitness' as it was then called!) were slow but long lasting - has to be the best way - they weren't in the amount I weighed, but in the way my body changed and how I looked. It was noticed by Siggy and the other campers as well which was a real boost. I will try not to leave it too long between camps - although this year, I have been away a lot, so had no choice, because I really noticed how low my levels of fitness had dropped when I joined this last camp half way through, it felt tough and I will try not to leave it so long in the future.
With regards the overall journey- again - it has helped me enormously both physically and emotionally, especially at the beginning of this year when Mum died. There was a lot of support from my new camp friends and Fernando, with regular texts and offers to bake cakes - it was a comfort. When I was able to make it, I felt much better, but sometimes was just too emotionally drained to keep it up. I can really feel it when I haven't done anything and have subsequently struggled with stamina levels when joining half way through this camp - too long away. For this reason, I will try and keep up the runs in between camps - not easy in the winter, but if a few of us are together, not so bad. In fact, on Saturday morning, I spent 45 mins running and exercising in the park with Sue and Sarah, felt great.
Atmosphere on camp is good - you get everyone going immediately and there's no room to think about the horrors of the next exercise, it just has to be done - there's a really feeling of fulfillment afterwards - I think we all feel that we're 'in it together'. The additional social aspect has been a bonus - it's great to have new friends who live locally - most of mine are miles away and require a weekend trip (more of which later).
As a camp leader, you have a very individual style, and nobody feels left out, we all feels left out. Aso, and this is a bit of a worry - you miss NOTHING. You have ears comme un bat, and eyes comme un hawk - quite spooky really.
I enjoy working out outside.
I do miss the pilates and very much hope this is part of the new camp as it always has been before. I'm sure this contributed to my body shape change and the high I felt after camp.
Anna says
Hi Fernando,
Thank you so much for a truly memorable experience. I am missing it
already.
I have not properly exercised for years. I have had free gym membership
with work for the past 5 years and the only time I have ventured in
there has been to take a shower before our Christmas parties! Boot Camp
has been amazing. Because you are doing it as a group, it is harder to
duck out or cancel, because you know that the majority of the people
turn up for every session. Also, even though everyone is of different
abilities, we all motivate each other. The outside element is fantastic.
It is amazing doing ab crunches while staring up at the stars and
watching the bats fly around and breathing in the gorgeous fresh air.
Ultimately though, what makes Boot Camp so fabulous is our instructor
Fernando. His energy and passion are boundless and even though we are
hurting like mad during some of the exercises, he still makes us laugh
and gives us the energy to carry on. A truly inspiring personal trainer,
who even when leading a group of 20 people, can still make you feel like
his eyes are constantly on you, checking you are not making any mistakes
and are pushing yourself to the limit. Roll on November 3rd, I cannot
cope with 3 weeks off!
See you soon.
Anna

And thank yooo...love your energy and the way you're able to naturally
create the balance between being able to push, challenge and motivate
everyone whilst keeping the session light and fun. Everyone seems addicted.
Your course is absolutely right down my street and I love the fact that each
session is varied and evolving.
After such a long 'fitness sabbatical', it's great to have the opportunity
to get back out into the real world, meet like minded people and see and
feel immediate progress. I do feel stronger and am happy with the way the
running is going. Being with others on a mission certainly helps.
Thanx Fernando, I wait to receive details of the next bootcamp.

Here's some of my thoughts on the bootcamps and firstly I'd like to start by saying thanks because I really enjoyed the last camp and I'm really looking forward to the next one. I took on board your feedback about pushing myself and I feel like I got a lot more out of my second camp. I've been getting lots of nice comments from people at work about having lost weight and although I don't own any scales I know I've lost weight and I feel so much more toned, all thanks to your bootcamps. I've got lots more energy and just my general wellbeing has improved so much with the regular exercising. I really enjoy exercising outside in the park and the fun that comes from exercising as a group, and I also really enjoyed the social evening and getting to meet people in the bar instead of in the park was fun!
When I told my friends I was doing a bootcamp they all thought it would mean running around being shouted at by some scary-looking army bloke and I'm so glad it's not like that! I think that we're still pushed to exercise as hard as we can but the group are really supportive of each other and I really like that it's all quite personal and you always seem to notice if I'm not doing an exercise properly! I find the feedback from you really useful and I always try and take it on board. In fact you've motivated me so much that I'm at a bit of a loss with no bootcamp for 3 weeks!
Ruth
Good to hear from you! I will definitely be coming to the next
Bootcamp and have already adjusted my social diary to fit them in!

I'm giving up my gym membership at LA Fitness (I haven't been for
more than 18 months and am still paying for it). You are so much better!
See you soon

Thank you for your progress report and kind words. I must say I am enjoying myself - apart from Saturday mornings - although, ever the optimist, it will get better! I am so pleased I picked up that flyer at Penge East Station. You are just what the doctor ordered (metaphorically speaking). You are a great motivator and make people want to do what you are asking of them. Exercising in a group is always more fun too. You seem to have gathered a really good group together.
I definitely have more energy - I've noticed this especially when I walk to work in the morning and when I have to go up the stairs to my bosses office - I'm running up - quite surprising myself in fact! I am trying to follow your nutritional advice, I've always eaten alot of vegetables, I am eating a lot more fruit as well.

After yesterday's class (which I really enjoyed and I feel great!) I have decided to commit to 10 weeks rather than 4.

I also meant to say to you that even though I haven't done any weights for so long, my arms looked terrific in the wedding pics! I was wearing a beautiful empire line dress (think 'Not tonight Josephine') and I have to admit I looked good and the arms didn't let me down - thanks!

Thank you for your feedbacks. It's good to know that my muscle tone is improving. I definitely noticed my back is stronger because I don't get lower back pain when I am on my feet all day like I used to.
Since I have been working out with you, I feel I have much more energy and stamina to do things that I love doing, instead of slouching in front of the TV after work. I always get a buzz after the workout. My posture has improved thanks to Pilates, and I no longer get back pains. I am also better at dealing with stressful situation at work and in my personal life. Also, having seen the improvement on my body shape has given me a boost to my self-esteem when I was feeling low.
Overall I am happy with my body. For the first time I can actually feel the muscle on my arms.
I am happy with the way you have structured the class. My favourite part of the class will have to be cardio work and Pilates. I am beginning to like the resistance work more, purely because of the result I am seeing on my muscle tone. I love doing a set of cardio and resistance workout like we did on Monday. It's so much fun and yes painful sometime. I love the fact that you have given us the personal attention when we need it and encourage us to achieve our goals. This is the only exercise class that I have stuck to for so long. It helps that everyone in the camp are friendly. I am excited to find out what is in store for us at the next camp. Above all I am looking forwards to exercising outdoor again.

Hi Fernando
Let me tell you something. Before I went on holiday in June I bought a pair of linen trousers. I can now pull those trousers on and off without undoing the zip! My clothes are looser my watch is flapping around my wrists and I have loads more energy. I wouldn't have got any of this without Bootcamp. I will push even harder.
I have lost 11lbs since starting bootcamp which is Wonderful. Before I joined camp last August I'd been away on holiday and when I saw the pictures when I came back I knew I had to do something. That's why I took one of your leaflets at Crystal Palace train station. I can run - but know I need to do better and that is partly because of a mental block I have. I need to do more to improve my stamina. I am a lot more toned and stronger. I am so much more positive about myself and I know what I have to do to keep fit.
I love the circuit training courses that we did in the gym during the winter. I found that challenging and fun. I love the resistance training and I like the cardio. I also like the great feeling after doing some running.

First of all I would like to say that I still like working out at your bootcamp very much. Your spirit (and music) is really uplifting and I think we have a nice bunch of women in the group. At the end of the last bootcamp and at the beginning of this one, I really felt progress: my condition got better, and the abdominal exercises felt better as well. But at the end I am always left with a better feeling, one way or another! In Pilates I think I really notice a difference; I had to get used to the type of exercises, but now I really FEEL the exercises. And therefore I feel my body more. I think Pilates helped me do the abdominal exercises during the camp

This morning I tried on a skirt which I've not been able to fit in for about a year... and it fitted. In fact it's a little on the loose side. How cool is that! I have a wardrobe coming back into my life and hopefully a new one on the horizon when have got to target weight! You miracle worker !

Hope you had a lovely weekend. Just wanted to send a big thank you for your patience, expertise, support and fun over the past few weeks of Boot camp. The boot camp experience exceeded my expectations and I am excited about hopefully continuing to improve. Anyway you have definitely changed me as I am off to buy one of those band things..... Have a great (well deserved) holiday and hopefully see you sometime in September Take Care

Hi Fernando, Great timing - I'd much rather answer these on a Friday afternoon than do my work! So, here are my thoughts for what they are worth:
1) I feel that I have noticed a real difference in the last couple of weeks, both in fitness and physique. I can lift heavier weights and even managed some proper press ups on Wednesday (that was my goal when I started). My stomach muscles are stronger too which I think has come from some of the pilates exercises.
2) I really enjoy the circuit style workout where we have different stations. It's varied so it doesn't get boring and I find that I really give it my all because you only have to do each exercise in short bursts.
3) My arms
4) I like circuits and aerobic style exercises (the jumping jacks etc)

I've got to be honest I absolutely love the classes, I am so glad I signed up. I mean its hard work but I am really feeling the benefits already. Definitely count me in for the rest of the ten weeks.

I can honestly say I have never enjoyed exercise as much as I do now so thanks for that.

Hi Fernando! I've been meaning to email you to tell you about my 10K run last weekend. I did it in 59 minutes, so I achieved my goal of doing it in under an hour - the last couple of 10k runs I've done (18 months or so ago now) have been 61 and 64 minutes. And I have to give credit to you for it, as there's no way I'd been able to do it without bootcamp kicking my butt in the month running up to it! So thank you very much indeed, can't wait for next bootcamp to start :-) I won't let it slip in the meantime though and have been running and doing some resistance work in the gym, and am planning to go to spinning class twice a week with a run at the weekend, so it's all good. Thanks again Fernando

Hi Fernando, quick bit of feedback from me. Am basically very happy with how it is going. Like all the instructors. Each instructor has a forceful personality which is very necessary to get me to work hard.
The balance of the classes seems good. I won't say which bits I'd like more/less from as the stuff I'd like less of is the stuff I probably need to do most of! Prefer the weights to the bands as well. So all good from me. Looking forward to the rest of the year.

Finally I have some news to share which you may find worthy for onward distribution. This evening I attended our annual charity event called railhouse rock for cancer research. Consider that trivial background. The important bit starts here. As I was leaving the dance floor to purchase my round I bumped into an old colleague. He gave me a double take look, patted my stomach and said what is going on here? Not knowing whether to be insulted and lay him out with an attacking elbow move taught by you, or not, I said 'what do you mean' to which he replied 'your gut has disappeared'. Although not strictly accurate I was delighted. And just goes to show that bootcamp and beer can live together in perfect harmony and still get results. Next target is to have the six pack admired by someone female and not middle aged.

Dear Fernando: Looking forward to this 4 last sessions with you at the helm. I'll be happy to start earlier on Sunday. Kyle gave us a hard time on Saturday but the time went by so fast! Since I started with the bootcamp I managed to achieve much more than I first thought. I've been separating myself from running for many years and now found its effect very liberating. Thanks for all the coaching and this new and more positive take on fitness and exercise.
See you tomorrow.

Fernando, I am very impressed with your attention to detail. Over-all I have thoroughly enjoyed the boot camps and am disappointed I missed last Sunday's session as wanted to attend them all. I am looking forward to finding out the details for the next sessions as I definitely want to sign up. I had noticed a big difference in my overall fitness. In fact I think I will go for a jog tonight!

What a great email. And look at you predicting the weather like one of those people on the TV. You're a veritable Wincy Willis (ask someone of my age what this means!) Okay. I hated the first three sessions at boot camp. My mother had bought it for me for Christmas so I felt obliged to keep coming. I felt stiff and tired afterwards and I dreaded the next session. Who in their right mind would want to trudge around a tennis court when there are mince pies to eat and gin and tonics to be drunk? However, at the end of my first boot camp I am convinced that I should sign up for the next one - I wake up earlier in the mornings, I have more energy in the day and have even managed to schlepp my bones round the park a few times on days when boot camp isn't on! This is more exercise than I have done for three years but I have discovered that I can still do it albeit a bit slower than you would like me to! To top it all, I weighed myself this morning and, my goodness, what a difference. A stone and a half lighter than when I first started and this is despite the mince pies and cheese slices I have eaten in the meantime. This is not like me at all. I can't say that I enjoy every part of every session - but the results of boot camp speak for themselves. Thanks Fernando.
Cheers

Some good news - I've put on 3lbs while keeping my body fat percentage at 14% (I work at the Department of Health and we have a machine that measures body fat). I'm loving Boot Camp and am really getting into the habit of exercise. I feel stronger than I have for ages, full of energy and I no longer get back pain from sitting at a computer all day long. Brilliant! I'm also encouraging my little boy Euan to be active through weekly swimming lessons and taking him to places like the Adventure Kingdom in Bromley to run around like a mad thing!

You probably don't get much feed back from partners, but you should know that boot camp has really changed Sarah's life. Her physical changes have been really fantastic, and her energy levels have improved huge amounts. More importantly though, it has been a great social and stress outlet that has really helped her through a bit of a bad time. So from me a big thanks.

Hi Fernando
Just a quick note to say thanks for the bootcamp.
I had 2 aims, I know you say to keep away from the scales, but I wanted to lose a stone as I knew I was at least a stone overweight, the other was to fit into some trousers that I had bought 6 months ago that no longer fit me.
Thanks to you I achieved both these goals and I now know that I am able to train at a higher intensity than I have been recently.
I am also eating healthier, eating less meat and more fruit / veg etc, also I am keeping away from the vending machine at work. I cut out alcohol for the whole four weeks of camp and I also feel that this has helped achieve my goals - and also help pay for your services!
I will definitely recommend your group to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation to myself.
Please keep me updated on your classes so I can come back again when I feel I need to.
Thanks once again and see you soon

"As a fat bloke (16st) who hadn't run the length of myself in the best part of a year I needed to do something to get my self back in shape to play rugby. I couldn't bare the idea of going back to rugby training in the state I was in so I decided to try bootcamp.....big mistake! It would have been easier having 15 big guys jumping up and down on my head at rugby training. Joking aside, bootcamp was great (tuff) but if you're like me and find personal motivation difficult boot camp will sort you out. I lost 1/2 stone in 4 weeks, I can run for the proverbial bus and I played two reasonable games of rugby already this season with out being hospitalised. I feel fitter, healthier, I sleep better and the acid test is I'm about to sigh up for my 3rd bootcamp. Try it, it works"

I have a love/hate relationship with Fernando. Why? The latter when he pushes me beyond my usual comfort zone and years of disuse and the former when I look in the mirror and see the amazing transformation. I've tried everything from sports to the gym and even (a very expensive) personal trainer and this is the best exercise regime ever. Training in a group is fun and motivating. Being outdoors is a natural and refreshing change to a cramped smelly gym. The results are so rewarding I am now embarking upon my third boot-camp. Fernando is no push-over; he notices every detail but he's infectiously humorous too. I recommend this to everyone but be warned....it's an addiction.
